Identifying The Natural Learner Within Our Adelaide Child Care Centre
A Natural Learner is the Child who thrives amongst the naturally occurring world. While they may enjoy the constructed environments of playgrounds, or the technology of today; a Natural Learner will be most at home in a Naturalist environment. A Natural Learner enjoys exploring environments and environmental cycles. They will use all of their senses to explore the environments available to them. They show a deep respect for the natural environment and will seek out those experiences that allow further investigation of the natural world around them.
How Can An Early Learning Centre In Adelaide Appeal To A Natural Learning Style
In Early Learning settings in Adelaide, it can be difficult to find a properly incorporated natural style of learning. At Where We Grow, we disagree. We welcome the natural environment into our classrooms. Plants are permanent inhabitants in all of our rooms. They offer beauty to us all, and a special connection to those Natural Learners within each class. It’s important that children learn as much about our natural world as possible, so they can help to create the best possible future.
What Activities Are Ideal For The Natural Learner?
A typical day within any Family Day Care in Adelaide, or any care setting for that matter, young children will hopefully have the opportunity to explore outside. At Where We Grow, we enjoy taking these explorations further. Our educators seek to provide cross-curricular opportunities so that your child can enjoy nature while enjoying other subjects as well. Taking our reading books or play outside is one such way we look to integrate natural learning into other areas. Bringing the outdoor world indoors by planting seeds and watching them take root. These young plants then travel home to begin life in a new environment.
A Natural Learner May Have An Interest In:
- Extended outdoor play
- Exploring the life and life cycles around their environment
- Weather changes and playing in those changes – sun to rain, light to dark
- Gardening and tasting straight from the garden
- Taking non natural resources into natural environments
