An Environment Dedicated To Building A Sense Of Security And Wonder For Your Child When They Attend Their First Early Learning Centre In Adelaide
At such a young age so much of life’s experiences are a first so it is important that compassion and gentleness are the cornerstones of developmental guidance in our Nursery Room.
Our Educators provide so much more than just Adelaide child care. Where We Grow Educators offer our Nursery Children endless opportunities to explore their world through their senses. We want our Children to use sight, smell, sound, touch and taste to develop their understanding of the world. We want them to learn to trust and feel confident in who they are and who shares their environment.
Our Nursery Can Be Your Child’s First Experience Of An Early Learning Centre In Adelaide.
Our Nursery is a language rich environment with our Educators communicating constantly with the children. As a dedicated child care centre in Adelaide, Where We Grow is an expressive environment where art and aesthetic motion are joyfully encouraged. It is also considered a very safe environment. Our Educators utilise the ‘Circle of Security’ within the Nursery, and they allow that circle to grow naturally larger in proportion to each Child’s growing social confidence.
The Nursery Room of Where We Grow, is an intimate room built on security and curiosity.
The Circle Of Security Is An Inclusive Ideal Designed To Promote Child Independence And Confidence In Young Children
At Where We Grow, we ask families to visualise the Circle of Security as a safe space between two hands. The top hand represents the support offered to young children in our Early Learning Centre in Adelaide, as they explore, play and learn. Our educators encourage the children to ask:
- ‘Watch over me’ (to see that I am safe).
- ‘Delight in me’ (so I can look into your face and see you are happy to be with me).
- ‘Help me’ (just enough so I can do it by myself).
- ‘Enjoy with me’ (join my interest).
Where We Grow Supports And Nurtures Children
The hand below represents the support offered to children when they have had enough of exploration, play and learning:
- ‘Protect me’ (because I am feeling scared).
- ‘Comfort me’ (when I am upset).
- ‘Delight in me’ (found on both sides of the circle because it is so important for children).
- (Help me to) ‘organise my feelings’.
